The movie focuses on American painter Jackson Pollock, a man who brought a new understanding to expressionism, and tells his dramatic life story. Suffering from alcoholism and manic depressive behavior, Pollock calms down and finds himself while painting. The film places Pollock and his then-girlfriend Lee Krasner at the heart of 1940s New York art scene.
